Enough is enough! As an East Norwich resident for seven and a half years and an Oyster Bay native, I have seen the traffic steadily increase on Route 106 heading both North and South bound. As a home owner on this road, I am beyond frustrated by the difficulty I encounter each day, particularly at rush hour, both entering and exiting my driveway.
Needless to say, I am strongly opposed to the building of the Avalon housing proposed at the former Hallock Chevrolet location. The Avalon proposal of 250 - 300 housing units means 250 - 600 more automobiles traveling our already crowded roads. My plea is for Oyster Bay and East Norwich residents to step up to the plate and protest the building of Avalon. It is time we take a stand and not sit idly by while our taxes increase. We can collectively make a difference.
